A gathering of sound systems is taking place in Galway this weekend when purveyors of reggae, dub, dubstep and drum & bass in Salthill will bring together their systems for a Jamaican-style Sound Clash.
On Friday and Saturday this weekend, Leisureland will host the sound clash with crews selecting and playing music via their custom built equipment. The crowd’s favourite wins the title of “Champion Sound”.
Friday night centres around a “Sound Clash” between the four electronic music Systems, who will be concentrating on the more contemporary forms of SoundSystem music – Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Jungle.
Saturday night sees the climax of the event with the turn of the Roots SoundSystems clashing, in a more traditional style playing Reggae, Dub, Ska and Dancehall.
