After returning in the summer with some once-off gigs and an EP, the math-rock chancers Adebisi Shank have released a Christmas album.
Titled Selected Festive Works 2007 to 2025, it varies between unique and traditional covers of Christmas tunes.
The Charlie Brown Christmas song ‘Christmas Time Is Here’ is a faithful version featuring MayKay on vocals, and there’s a more twisted Adebisi version of Wonderful Christmastime’, a weird talkbox/vocoder version of ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’, a version of ‘Feliz Navidad’ that sounds more like something the Flaming Lips might do, a deranged version of the Mariah classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ and a Daft Punk-esque version of ‘Walking In The Air’.
Vinny has form in making music for ads and such, but that only partly explains this complete work of festive cheer.
