Angine de Poitrine make US TV debut on The Tonight Show, sold-out Dublin date included in autumn run.
The Quebec duo Angine de Poitrine debuted new song ‘Zugzegk’ on Jimmy Fallon this week, capping a breakout year that includes a completely sold-out European tour, with Vicar Street included.
The performance lands in the middle of a completely sold-out US tour, with the duo returning to the UK and EU next month for a further run of sold-out dates, including two shows at London’s Troxy and a Dublin date at Vicar Street on Friday October 16th, before heading back to Canada and the US to close out the year through November and December. Every date on the run is already sold out.
Things have really blown up for the band since that KEXP set went viral in March. Their second full-length album, Vol. II, came out in April, which I said was “raw, nervy, replayable janky math-rock that rewards the attention, with dips into Primus territory. Vol II only sticks around for six long dizzy guitar and bass punchy combo songs and a lithe 36 minutes, but bursts the seams of its duo limitations with looped riffs delivered like a warped alien transmission.”
They were on the 8 best new bands we saw at The Great Escape 2026.
Angine de Poitrine, the project of Khn de Poitrine (microtonal guitars, vocals) and Klek de Poitrine (percussion, vocals), have built their reputation over just two years on asymmetrical, dissonant music and electrifying live shows, including a Live on KEXP session that’s passed 19 million views, a one-off support slot for Jack White at Toronto’s RBC Amphitheatre, and a free headline show at the Montreal International Jazz Festival that drew over 80,000 people.
