BARE in the Woods is back from the dead
After its sudden cancellation due to stringent licence conditions this summer, BARE In the Woods has announced it will return in 2018 to the new venue of Borris House in Carlow on the 6th and 7th of July.
The 2017 edition of the festival was to have performers Kiesza, Right Said Fred, Helmet, House of Pain and Mike Skinner among many local acts was postponed but later cancelled. The organisers outlined the issues that lead to that cancellation including “unattainable conditions, extraordinary fees, and unachievable deadlines”
BARE organisers say:
“Our mission statement from day one was to create the best boutique site in Europe and bring an event that offers something different and unique in the bustling Festival scene in Ireland. The aim is to create an area which complements the beautiful and historic surroundings area provides, we had created a festival site in Garryhinch which was world class and we look forward to working with local crafts people and businesses to make BARE18 something to behold.”
The new site itself is beside the River Barrow and overlooked by the Blackstairs Mountains.
