Batongo – ‘Aguirre’ (Mano Le Tough remix)
Presumably you’ve not been sleeping on Mano Le Tough’s Permanent Vacation debut album and recent Nialler9 Album of the week Changing Days. Mano’s been off playing in Europe recently. Somehow this remix of Batongo slipped through my net. The original track ‘Aguirre’ is inspired by the Werner Herzog film Aguirre, the Wrath of God, about explorers on a search for El Dorado in South America.
Mano Le Tough’s version goes for an exploratory house feel itself with atmospheric jungle noises, with an increasing urgency leading to some pleasing key notes and some choral-esque synths.
