The daytime all-ages cassette culture event on Sunday October 11th will record its stripped-back sets straight to tape, with 25 limited edition copies duplicated in the room for lucky attendees to take home.
BLAB follows its sold-out third edition last month with the Tape Social, a free event at Rascals Brewing Company in Inchicore on Sunday October 11th built around cassette tape culture. The hook is that the music won’t just be played live, it’ll be captured live: every performance will be recorded straight to tape, and 25 limited edition cassettes will be duplicated in the room as the afternoon goes on, with a lucky few attendees getting to take one home.
Stripped-back sets come from CABL, Goldbug, Hotgirl‘s Ashley Abbedeen and Last Apollo. With everything going direct to tape, there’s no studio polish to hide behind, so what ends up on the cassettes is whatever happens in the room.
Around the live recording, there’s a cassette tape fair, listening stations, a BLAB photo exhibition and merch sales, plus limited edition BLAB x Rascals lagers. BLAB will also announce the lineup for BLAB004, which takes place in November.
