Cork electronic/house producer Darren Sheehan goes under the name Dashka and he DJs in places like Ibiza and collaborates with the likes of Judge Jules.
On his latest release, the Stand Tall EP, he pares back his beat-heavy approach to create a more downtempo head-nodding collection that is more reminiscent of Bonobo and Amon Tobin than any kind of big house grooving.
You can hear the EP in full here but start with my favourite, ‘Stand Tall’, a string and synth melody-featuring highlight featuring a Schull singer Ciara O’Driscoll who goes under the name Stellar C.
