El Perro Del Mar‘s ‘Walk On By’ swings with a ’90s dance lounge compilation feel but before you throw up on screen at the thought of it, consider that Stockholm’s Sarah Assbring (the poor thing) has a knack of walking the tightrope between soft sounds and great pop songs. ‘Walk On By’ is certainly one of those. Assbring’s vocals is inching ever closer to her frequent collaborator Lykke Li through osmosis.
‘Walk On By’ is taken from her forthcoming album Pale Fire out in November on Memphis Industries. A selection of other recent highlights follow, ‘Change of Heart’ is a big favourite.
