FKJ – Time For A Change EP
French Kiwi Juice or just FJK if you’re texting, brings good vibes with his Time For A Change EP, the second EP in over a year from the producer out on Roche Musique. On it, the dreadlocked Parisian impresses over four-tracks of sunshining jazz-indebted electronic funk.
‘Instant Need’ rocks the R&B funk look with soulful samples and keys set to headnodding beats. ‘Unchained’ is a jazzy number channelling funk synths and big bass into a hard-rocking beat number. ‘So Much To Me’ twinkles and sparkles with soulful Flume-style samples and funky bass guitar. The EP runs at a pleasing 22-minute long and it’s one that I’ve hit repeat on quite a few times already immediately after its playback.
Perfect summer music.
