Fontaines D.C. add second Slane Castle gig due to demand

Presale demand alone sold out Saturday’s show, with the Dublin band now playing back-to-back nights at Slane and becoming only the third Irish act ever to headline there.

Fontaines D.C.’s Slane Castle show sold out through artist and promoter presale alone, before general sale had even opened. A second date has now been added: Sunday June 27th 2027, the day after their original Saturday June 26th show.

Hayley Williams, Damien Dempsey and Madra Salach are confirmed to support across both nights.

Tickets for both nights go on general sale at 10am this Thursday 3rd September here, but presale is on sale now

Tickets priced from €89.25 (including booking fee and €1 charity donation to Focus Ireland). Bookings subject to 12.5% service charge per ticket (max €10.50). No service charge applies to tickets bought in person from the 3Olympia Box Office, Dame Street, Dublin 2.

Details of coach transport services will be announced shortly.

Two nights at Slane puts Fontaines in genuinely rare company. The venue has only ever been headlined by three Irish acts, Thin Lizzy at the very first show in 1981, U2 in 2001, and now Fontaines, with every other year in between going to visiting acts from The Rolling Stones and Madonna through to Metallica and Luke Combs. Doing it across two nights, rather than one, is its own statement about where the band sit right now.

The speed of the sell-out lines up with everything else happening around the band this year. Fifth album Dopamine Chamber lands October 16th via XL, produced by James Ford, the follow-up to 2024’s Romance. It’s paired with the biggest arena tour of their career, running through Europe and the UK in late October and November and taking in the Ziggo Dome, Accor Arena and London’s O2. Slane is the only Irish date on that entire album campaign, which goes some way to explaining why two nights went as fast as they did.
