Manic Street Preachers have announced a special 20th anniversary gig for Dublin on December 13th at the Olympia where they will perform their caustic classic Holy Bible in full for the first time. Manic Street Preachers - Yes

The FMC tour has been announced for November for dates in Limerick, Cork, Dundalk, Dublin, Galway and another to be decided via Gigstarter. The three bands this year are Fight Like Apes, Kid Karate and Sleep Thieves. The gigs are put together by First Music Contact  in association with The Arts Council Touring and Dissemination Fund. A local band will play each date and tickets are only €10 from FMCTour.com.

Prolific online remixer, Norway 22-year old Kygo has lined up an Endless Summer tour (may be a few months late dude) and it’ll hit Twisted Pepper on Thursday November 27th. Support from Amtrac.


Mark Lanegan is to play three Irish shows in January off the back of his recent EP and forthcoming album Phantom Radio. The gigs are Seapoint, Galway (Thursday January 15th, €20), The Limelight, Belfast (Friday January 16th, £16) and Academy, Dublin (Saturday January 17th, €25). Tickets on sale Friday from Ticketmaster.

Darklight and U:Mack are bringing composer Jozef Van Wissem to Dublin to perform his soundtrack to Jim Jarmusch’s Only Lovers Left Alive along with a Q&A in Whelan’s on Wednesday October 1st next week.


The Dublin Beatles Festival is back in the city from November 7th to 9th. This year’s festivities will include Neil Innes (The Seventh Python and Ron Nasty from The Rutles) , Revolver, Biggles Flys Again, Vyvienne Long and The Statics playing. There’ll also be screenings, a table quiz and more. Check the programme.


The Unthanks are lined up for a return to Dublin courtesy of Aiken Promotions next year. March 12th in The National Concert Hall to be exact. Tickets €26 on sale tomorrow (Wednesday) from www.nch.ie.


Sage Francis is playing an Irish tour next month which includes  a gig in Fifth on Teeling in Sligo on October 10th, as well as Cork, Belfast and Dublin.

Tony Clayton-Lea’s Culture Vultures night returns on Thursday October 16th. The salon-style event will feature music from Ham Sandwich, chat with Panti Bliss and a performance from John Cummins. Tickets €10 from Entertainment.ie.
