Some gig announcements for Dublin, Galway, Kilkenny and Belfast of late.


Donal Dineen is bringing his Backstory series to Orlagh House in Rathfarnham. Tell It On the Mountains takes place this Saturday at the foot of the Dublin Mountains.

The special live edition of Backstory features Vanishing Arcs, Patrick Kelleher, Méabh McKenna & Seamas Hyland. Governess & Dónal D on DJ support.

Foggy Notions have announced some gigs of note for rapper MIKE, Glasshouse Perform Ryuichi Sakamoto, American indie rock band DEHD and a show featuring New Jackson, Rory Sweeney & The Outside among others.

Scottish alternative rock band The Vaselines were made famous by Kurt Cobain covering their song ‘Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam’ on Nirvana Unplugged, and the duo are playing The Grand Social in Dublin next March 21st. Support on the night from Dublin punk staple Molly Vulpyne.

The Vaselines’ ‘Molly’s Lips’ and ‘Son of A Gun’ were also performed by Nirvana too.

Foo Laa Fest is a one day indoor festival takes place on December 5th across two stages in The Ulster Sports Club in Belfast.

Cian O’Ciobhain’s Disco Dána club night is back on Saturday 30th November in Galway for the first time at The Mick Lally Theatre on Druid Lane. Tickets.


Singular Artists have added new Dublin shows for the RTE Concert Orchestra performs the songs of David Bowie, Joshua Burnside at Whelan’s, M.W.A & The Psychedelic Folk Band, Been Stellar and more.


Maverick Sabre has just released a fine new album in Burn The Right Things Down and now a headline gig in the 3Olympia Theatre on Thursday 13th February 2025.


Classical violinist Hilda O’ Mahony brings her new show enVELop to St. John’s Priory in Kilkenny on Sunday November 24th. She will be joined by international concert pianist Máire Carroll, for enVELop, whivhaudience with a fusion of classical music and live, interactive visuals. The concert will feature violin/piano works by Phillip Glass, Arvo Pärt, Max Richter, Ludovicio Einduani, Bela Bartók & Valentin Silvestrov and live visuals by artist marQu.
