With Glastonbury taking a year off this year, the BBC has concocted four weekend shows in four UK and NI cities of Perth (Scotland), Swansea (Wales), Coventry (England) and Belfast (Northern Ireland) from May 25 – 28th this year under The Biggest Weekend.
Different artists will perform in different cities in the same weekend including Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Snow Patrol, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Nigel Kennedy among them to represent BBC various radio stations.
Belfast gets the BBC Six Music lineup which will feature Beck, Courtney Barnett, Manic Street Preachers and Public Service Broadcasting on Friday 25th May at Titanic Slipways.
Tickets cost £18 per person (+£4.50 booking fee) for a day ticket to for one event location and Belfast is on sale at 10am on February 12th.
It’s hardly a Glasto replacement is it but it will provide some degree of replacement content for the network.
