The OG Zimbabwean Irish rapper is back on Narolane Records with a solo single.

‘The Art of Alienation’ picks up similar terrain to the experience of being a first-generation immigrant as heard on the Rusangano Family 2016 song ‘Heathrow’.

Inspired by Outkast’s The Art of Storytelling series, ‘The Art of Alienation’ picks up with God Knows finding his place in the backdrop of his new home of Shannon, with lyrics exploring loss of, and finding identity, depersonalisation and the societal disconnection of finding your way and yourself in a new land.

“The track speaks of my journey as a first generation immigrant from the first made up town in Ireland called Shannon after the river Shannon. I explore the rich history that it holds and my trials grappling between my identity as a Zimbabwean and as an Irish man.”

This Saturday, God Knows plays a rare solo live show Upstairs at Dolan’s of Limerick.

It’s God Know’s first release since his collaboration with The Line and two EPs in 2022.
