Eithne Ní Chathain is set to follow up the 2022 contemporary sean-nós album Inion this year.
‘Beatha’ is the first song from the forthcoming, as yet untitled fourth Inni-K record, and it’s a jazz-inflected song hold a tautness with off-kilter fiddle stabs and plucked strings under Eithne’s Irish language vocal.
The song was made in the studio through the production and musicianship of Seán Mac Erlaine and the rhythmic textures of Matthew Jacobson on percussion.
Watch the lush music video directed by Nestor Romero Clemente, shot in a forest that reflects the song’s inspiration as Eithne explains below.
“This song really began with a fascination I experienced during a veg-growing course. We had an expert come in on composting and I was really mesmerised by the dark humus he showed us – the various matter transforming over time into this incredibly nourishing dark compound. It made me think of life’s invisible intelligences, miraculous forces moving continuously toward life, toward living!”

“Beatha” will be available to stream & purchase on Bandcamp & all major streaming platforms from tomorrow, 23 May 2025.

Inni-K Beatha Lyrics
“The lyrics to ‘Beatha’ came as Gaeilge”:
Saoithe dofheicthe, saoithe beo / de shíor ag gluaiseacht i dtreo…
Invisible wise beings, alive wise beings / constantly moving towards…
Aigne dhofheicthe, aigne bheo / de shíor ag gluaiseacht i dtreo na…
Invisible mind, alive mind / constantly moving towards…
Beatha, Beatha / Dia ‘bhur mbeatha
Life, Life / God in your living
Gaois dhofheicthe, gaois bheo / de shíor ag gluaiseacht i dtreo na…
Invisible wisdom, alive wisdom / constantly moving towards…
Beatha, Beatha / Dia inár mbeatha
Life, Life / God in our living
