Jape – ‘The Oldest Mind’
Last week, Jape announced details of Ocean Of Frequency, the fourth album by Richie Egan and friends is due on September 30th via music/is/for/losers. The Double A-side ‘Hands Of Fire’ and ‘Lying On A Deathbed’ showed two distinct facets of the Jape sound: pop-orientated and folk. ‘The Oldest Mind’ meanwhile forges into new more electronic terroritory. It’s a complete immersive electronic ballad with some Balearic tones and big ’80s ambience.
Jape plays Electric Picnic on Saturday (Electric Arena, 5.15pm) and Richie and Niall play as Visionair on the Love Letter Stage on Saturday night / Sunday morning at 1.15am.
