LCD Soundsystem get the remix treatment from Dixon & Lovefingers

The ‘Some Remixes’ release gives the band’s newer material an extra edge.

Iconic disco-punk group LCD Soundsystem have released a small collection of remixed material from their latest album American Dream.

The NYC band’s material sounds superb on these remixes. Dixon’s reimagining of  ‘I Used To’ adds a sense of vitality to the track, with the bass and drums having been turned to up to eleven.  A techno DJ by trade, it sounds like Dixon has taken the dirtiest grooves from the track and ran with them.

Lovefingers’ remix of ‘Oh Baby’ is sprawling and layered, with detuned synths wailing over the ocean of reverb on Murphy’s vocals. A strange but effective contrast to the philosophy of dance heard on Dixon’s track.
