Le Galaxie sign publishing deal with NYC’s Reservoir Music
Le Galaxie have just signed a publishing deal with New York-based publishing company Reservoir, which means that the Dublin four-piece may be appearing on a TV show, movie or ad that you might be watching in the near future.
Reservoir Director of Licensing & Creative Andy Moerschell cited the band’s CMJ show at Pianos in New York as one of the reasons for the deal.
“I was not prepared for how incredible Le Galaxie would be live,” says Moerschell. “The energy of their songs and stage presence is unlike anything I’veever experienced, and the fact that they’re able to recreate that feeling on a recording like Le Club cements what a special act this is. I’m excited to be part of their team and ever-growing fan base.”
Reservoir also look after some big names which Le Galaxie frontman Michael Pope is excited about. “We are so excited to be part of the Reservoir family, a family that includes music by Major Lazer, MØ, and M.I.A. When we create Le Galaxie music we
dream of it reaching the biggest audience possible, we dream of it soundtracking experiences all over the world. Now we all get to dream together.” Although, he adds, “Not literally. That would be impossible.”
Reservoir was founded in 2007 and has the publishing rights for over 100 #1 releases with well-known songs like John Denver’s “Rocky Mountain High”, The Delfonics’ “La-La Means I Love You”, Aaliyah’s “More Than A Woman” AND Daniel Bedingfield’s “Gotta Get Thru This”. The company’s writer roster includes Nitin Sawhney, Ina Wroldsen (Calvin Harris, James Arthur, Shakira), multi-genre writer-producer Jamie Hartman (Christina Aguilera, Anastacia, Ben’s Brother), as well as writer-performer 2 Chainz, Phantogram, and MØ.
