Caribou’s new album Our Love demosntrates that Dan Snaith is is now fully immersed in the world of the nightclub but he wears his heart on his turntable, so perfect time for him to do both on one of the biggest mix platforms in the world – BBC’s Essential Mix.
Snaith provided the two-hour mix on Saturday night and it includes lots of Caribou and Daphni tracks (two new ones from the latter) along with Armand Van Helden, Daft Punk, James Brown, Les Sins and bringing it back to his original influences – The Zombies.
“Right now is an exciting time for me, with a new album about to come out and a world tour about to kick off. But it also means I’ll be taking a break from all the DJing I’ve been doing as Daphni over the last few years. So this mix incorporates some of the music I’ve been playing in my DJ sets over the last little while and also some of the music I’ve been making. It features exclusive new music from friends of mine, Joy Orbison & Boddika, Pearson Sound, Les Sins, Anthony Naples and two new tracks from me under my Daphni alias.”
