Matthew Dear – Deserter (Four Tet Instrumental)
If you listened to our latest Podcast (and I highly recommend you do!), you will have heard the excellent original of “Deserter”. We also mentioned we hadn’t heard the Four Tet remix yet. Well now obviously we have and it’s a cracker.
I prefer the instrumental remix as it’s not hampered by Dear’s grouchy vocals allowing Hebden to turn the original’s dark atmospheric night-time mood into a enlivened mischievous summer evening. Asa Breed meanwhile gets better with every listen.
