Dublin’s iconic LGBTQ+ club night is back in Stradbally
Mother, Dublin’s long-running LGBTQ+ club night, is bringing its Queer Dance Party in the Woods back to Electric Picnic this year, running 11pm to 4am Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Mother’s resident DJs Rocky T. Delgado, Ruth Kavanagh and Ghostboy are joined across the weekend by special guest DJs Kelly-Anne Byrne, Glamo and Shrem, alongside a full cast of drag performers, dancers and regulars from Dublin’s queer nightlife scene.
Mother started in Dublin in June 2010 as an old-school club night for the city’s LGBTQ+ community, and its DJs have played Electric Picnic’s stages for over a decade. The festival gave Mother its own dedicated late-night home in the woods in 2022, and they’ve been back ever since.

Founded in Dublin in June 2010, Mother has grown into Ireland’s best-known LGBTQ+ club night, built around disco, house and queer joy. Alongside its regular Dublin residency and annual Pride Block Party, it’s become a fixture of the Irish festival circuit.
Niall Byrne is the founder of the most-influential Irish music site Nialler9, where he has been writing about music since 2005. He is the co-host of the Nialler9 Podcast and has written for the Irish Times, Irish Independent, Sunday Times, Totally Dublin, Cara Magazine, Red Bull and more. Niall is a DJ, co-founder of Lumo Club, event curator, Indie Sleaze club promoter, and producer of gigs and monthly listening parties & events in Dublin.
