MP3: The Field – The More That I Do
Yesterday and Today is the new album from Axel Wilner aka The Field which is released on 25th May through Kompakt and ‘The More That I Do’ is the first taster from the album.
It’s eight and a half minutes of epic motifs infused with all the hallmarks you’d expect from The Field productions only with added live instrumentation buried in the mix. It’s the sound of shoegazing techno shattering a sheet of glass in slo-motion.
Curiously, contributing percussion to the title track is the only and only John Stanier of Battles who apparently can be heard “masterfully tackling the beats into submission”. I’m looking forward to that.
