The Dublin Mountains festival’s third year spreads across eight pubs and mountain venues, with Liam Ó Maonlaí, Qbana and more
Music in the Mountains returns for its third edition, running Friday October 9th to Sunday October 11th, bringing three days of live music and Irish culture back to the hills above Dublin.
Curated by NASC, this year’s festival spreads across eight of the area’s best-loved pubs and mountain venues, The Step Inn, The Golden Ball, Johnnie Fox’s, The Blue Light, The Gap, The Sandyford House, The Merry Ploughboy and Taylors Three Rock, turning the Dublin Mountains into one continuous trail of music for the weekend.

The wider programme spans trad, folk, singer-songwriter and blues, and includes MayKay, Calum Agnew, Anamoe Drive, Na Casaidigh Óga, Frowning Hours, John Byrne, Zamo Riffman, Fiach Moriarty, Mik Pyro & The Dublin Blues Cartel, Holly Munro, Na Tonnta, Lily May, Whitewater and Finn Furey, spread across the mountain venues all weekend.

Beyond the music, the festival runs a Pop Up Gaeltacht, a comedy night and open sessions throughout the weekend.
Festival director Cormac Chambers said Music in the Mountains has always been about more than gigs in a field, pointing to the pubs, the community, the language and the mountains themselves as central to what the festival is, and called this year’s lineup the richest yet.
