Megan Thee Stallion – Traumazine
Second album from the Texas rapper. “Traumazine” is a chemical released in the brain when forced to deal with “painful emotions caused by traumatic events and experiences.” Trailer.
Sylvan Esso – No Rules Sandy
Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn say that No Rules Sandy “feels like who we actually are. It just feels like us. We’re not trying to fit into the mould, just happily being our freak selves.” ‘Didn’t Care’.
easy life – MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE…
UK laid-back soul rap pop band’s new album. ‘DEAR MISS HOLLOWAY‘ features Kevin Abstract.
Hudson Mohawke – Cry Sugar
Big bombastic visceral electronic music from the Scottish producer, now based in LA. ‘Bicstan’.
Pale Waves – Unwanted
Third studio album by English indie pop band.
Italians Do It Better – After Dark 4 compilation
Italians Do It Better have surprise released the fourth instalment of their After Dark. compilation series today which features tracks from Desire, Sally Shapiro, Glüme, Mothermary, Farah, Joon Wolfram and more.
Oh Sees – A Foul Form
Prolific Los Angeles psych garage punk band. Bandcamp.
Panda Bear & Sonic Boom – Reset
Animal Collective’s Panda Bear and Spacemen 3’s Sonic Boom collaborative album on Domino is inspired by Sonic Boom’s collection of ‘50s and ‘60s American doo-wop and rock-and-roll LPs. ‘Go On’.
Elaine Howley – The Distance Between Heart And Mouth
When not playing with Irish acts Altered Hours, Morning Veils, Crevice and Howlbux, Cork-based Elaine Howley was keeping an audio diary on a 4-track cassette machine in 2019 and 2020. The self-produced output of which attempts to recreate the intimacy a radio show, through weaving a tapestry of sounds that exist in the Venn diagram between pop music and experimentation. The result is out today on Belfast’s Touch Sensitive Records. ‘Silent Talk’
Your Old Droog – Yodney Dangerfield
The New York rapper follows up recent albums YOD Wave and Yod Stewart.‘ 50K or Brunch’
Paddy Mulcahy – Angel’s Share
Irish composer releases full-length album of ambient contemporary electronica. Title track.
Caoi De Barra – Thicket EP
The Berlin-based Wyvern Lingo artist has released a four-track solo EP. ‘Skirting Board Bonfire’ / ‘Messy Head’
Erasure – Day-Glo (Based on a True Story)
Another companion collection of 10 tracks cut from the same cloth as 2020’s The Neon.
Claude – A lot’s gonna change
Chicago artist’s debut LP of art-alt-pop music. ‘Twenty Something’.
God Knows – We Move The Needle EP
New five-track EP from the Limerick/Zimbabwean rapper on Narolane. Features ‘Glory‘.
Kiwi Jr. – Chopper
Third album from Canadian indie-rock band was recorded and produced in Toronto by Sub Pop labelmate Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs, Operators). ‘The Sound of Music’
DJ Harrison – Tales from the Old Dominion
Virginia’s DJ Harrison strolls up on Stones Throw with a neo-soulful follow-up to his 2017 album, channelling ‘Voodoo’-era D’Angelo on a dedication to his native deep south and its troubled history, ft. guest spots by Pink Siifu, Billy Mercury, and Nigel Hall. Boomkat.
Max Tundra – Remixtape
Max Tundra’s three albums are being reissued today including this remix album which features remixes from A. G. Cook, Julia Holter, Katie Dey, Kero Kero Bonito and more. You should listen to his great and bonkers 2002 album Mastered By Guy at The Exchange.
