A 27-date European and UK Wild God tour has been announced including a Dublin date.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will play 3Arena in Dublin as part of the tour, on November 12th 2024.

Shows all acrosss Europe and UK happen in September, October November.

Wild God is the name of the band’s 18th album, and the title track is below.

“I hope the album has the effect on listeners that it’s had on me,” Cave says. “It bursts out of the speaker, and I get swept up with it. It’s a complicated record, but it’s also deeply and joyously infectious. There is never a masterplan when we make a record. The records rather reflect back the emotional state of the writers and musicians who played them. Listening to this, I don’t know, it seems we’re happy.”

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds on playing Israel and rejecting BDS

Cave has previously come under strong criticism for flouting the cultural boycott on Israel by playing shows there, prior to the recent genocidal acts by Israel on Palestine. There is no Israel date this time.

In his Red Hand Files at the time in 2018, he wrote:

“Clearly the decision for The Bad Seeds to play in Israel is contentious for some people. But to be clear on this: I do not support the current government in Israel, yet do not accept that my decision to play in the country is any kind of tacit support for that government’s policies. Nor do I condone the atrocities that you have described; nor am I ignorant of them. I am aware of the injustices suffered by the Palestinian population, and wish, with all people of good conscience, that their suffering is ended via a comprehensive and just solution, one that involves enormous political will on both sides of the equation.

But I also do not support the Boycott, Divestments and Sanctions movement, as you know. I think the cultural boycott of Israel is cowardly and shameful. In fact, this is partly the reason I am playing Israel – not as support for any particular political entity but as a principled stand against those who wish to bully, shame and silence musicians.”

What are your thoughts on Brian Eno’s stance on Israel?

I would like to hear his current thoughts on Israel, and the effectiveness of BDS at a time when many Irish bands take a stand and boycott SXSW in solidarity with Palestine.
