Last month, we shared news of a new popup vinyl record shop running on certain days in Hen’s Teeth on 13 Fade Street in the run-up to Christmas.
News reached that Cian Murphy’s enterprise has now found a permanent home in Dublin’s newest bar, The Big Romance on Parnell Street, which is a good fit for the shop, being that is a bar with a custom Hatchett sound system run by the guys behind Hidden Agenda. In fact, i’ll be playing tunes as my first outing there this Friday. Of course, The bar is named after David Kitt’s album, with his blessing. Here’s their beer list.
Optic takes residence at The Big Romance from at 98 Parnell Street from Saturday the 15th of December, the shop daily from noon. Their selection includes classic disco, rock, electronic, post-punk and pop and more in 12″ albums and includes records from Talking Heads, Abba, Bowie, Tom Tom Club, John Cale, Soft Cell, Burial, Donna Summer, Moroder, Jean Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk included.
