Time now for some downbeat electronica courtesy of Limerick native Proper Micro NV.

Rory Hall has been making and releasing music under the name of Proper Micro NV for some time now. He’s got two EP’s already under his belt.EP 1 came out in 2016 and It’s Always Raining followed later in the same year.

Now the artist is gearing up toward the release of his debut LP Dormant Boy. ‘Eyes’ is the lead single taken from that album.

Woozy and wonderfully understated, ‘Eyes’ finds life both in Hall’s resonant vocal delivery and in the minimalist electronic accompaniment that goes with it.

Hall views the song as a signpost for what’s to come on the LP, stating “‘Eyes’ is one of my favourites on the record. It’s about adapting to a change of situation. It’s quite dancey and euphoric in a sense and was one of the first songs I wrote for the album. It definitely set the tone at the beginning of the writing process for me.”

With such a unique voice and a clever ear for production, there’s plenty of room for more music of the same calibre as ‘Eyes’.
