RÓIS is a Fermanagh composer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and electronic artist, who released the brilliant EP Mo Léan that placed highly on my Irish albums of the year.
Last year, the artist played a set in Dublin’s Workman’s Cellar, over Halloween that was split into two parts, the first was drawn from the trad electronic keening songs as heard on the Mo Léan EP (that has since been nominated by the Choice Music Prize for Irish album of the year for which I am a judge), and the second was a more abrasive and surprising set of electronic and vocals, EMB and industrial.
That Dublin show was presented by Foggy Notions (who are somewhat of a roll this week), and who will put on a larger show for RÓIS, upstairs in Workman’s Club on Thursday May 1st.
Tickets on general sale this Thursday at 10am priced from €18 plus fees from TM.
RÓIS is also nominated for the Irish Folk Awards.
