Rory Sweeney announces new album Old Earth; features RÓIS, Saoirse Miller, Curtisy, Roo Honeychild, EMBY and more

Rory Sweeney

The prolific Dublin-based producer takes a turn from his more dancefloor and electronic-focused work to a more exploratory full-length.

Old Earth is Sweeney’s second album after the double album debut Trash Catalogue in 2022, and the recent Irish Hash Mafia rap mixtape which saw Sweeney team up with Curtisy, E The Artist, Owin, Ahmed, With Love; Yeire13, Lonely Chap and collabs/remixes with Pippa Molony, Bren Berry, New Jackson and Sloucho.

Old Earth is said to be “a meditation on time, decay, memory, and myth in the digital age. The album maps a dream logic that connects the natural world, early internet mysticism, Irish folklore, and the quiet violence of technological evolution.”

The previously released ‘Entrance Places’ with Saoirse Miller, RÓIS & Ristéard Ó hAodhaopens the record, which also features contributions from Curtisy, UshMush, Julia Louise Knifefist, Roo Honeychild, EMBY, Emily Beattie, and Celine Starling.

The album is out on October 24th and is available on vinyl via Bandcamp on -pre-order now. The album won’t be available on streaming services like Spotify due to owner Daniel Ek’s military investment and the exploitative setup of streaming revenue.
