New songs from Yacht’s Shangri-La & a DFA Radio mix
Jona Bechtolt and Claire L.Evans aka Yacht will release Shangri-La, the followup to See Mystery Lights, one of my favourite albums of 2009. Continuing the quasi-mystical celestial theme of that album, Shangri-La finds the duo exploring the concepts of utopia and dystopia leading to the idea that “the future is a blank slate upon which anything can be imposed.” They may be going too far into the conceptual side this time around but Shangri-La is a fun danceable DFA-type record.
The album is released on June 24th through DFA Records. Here are the two songs released from it so far:
