Indie Sleaze’s revivalist is coming to Ireland.
The Dare is the Charli XCX-Brat collaborator (he’s namechecked on ‘Guess’, a track he produced) and New York artist reviving the indie sleaze sound of the early 2000s.
Harrison Piper Smith’s debut album What’s Wrong With New York? was released in September, and features the singles ‘Girls’, ‘You’re Invited’ and ‘Perfume’.
The best term I’ve heard for describing The Dare came from the Nialler9 Discord – inLCD Soundystem. (Chef’s kiss).
The Dare’s Dublin gig on 18th March 2025 takes place at Vicar Street and tickets are on sale Friday November 1st at 10am from Ticketmaster.ie.
Presale: Thursday October 31st.
The album features input from Dylan Brady (100 gecs), Emile Haynie (Lana Del Rey, FKA twigs, Dua Lipa), Romil Hemnani (Brockhampton), Chris Greatti (Yves Tumor, Yeule) and more.
