Overhead, The Albatross release the uplifting elegy of 'Paul Lynch'

The Dublin post-rock band have released a new song from their forthcoming new album I Leave You This, released November 15th via Nice Weather For Airstrikes.

‘Paul Lynch’ follows the previous single ‘This Is Like Love’, and is a track dedicated to their titular close friend who passed away recently.

The song is an uplifting celebration of post-rock, electronics, sampled vocals and chanted vocals from the band in his memory – “So bang that drum / And play us out / Your final roll / Your final shout…”

“Paul Lynch” is named in memory of a close friend who played an essential role in the creation of this album. Paul, a best friend of our band member David, was a constant presence in the studio during the writing process. It was his encouragement that brought us back together after years apart, and without him, this album might not have existed. This song is our tribute to his friendship and lasting impact on us as individuals and as a band. The song ends with a cathartic chant that helps us remember Paul and invites those listening to remember the people in their own lives who they have lost along the way.”
