The Dublin venue has formally turned its downstairs space into a venue of its own, upgrading its production.
The Ballroom is a 170-cap venue and club space in The Grand Social, downstairs from the venue’s main space The Loft (300 cap) which has been running for 15 years now.
Improvements include a new raised stage and upgraded state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, with attention paid to its viewing platform on one side of the venue, to ensure the views are good for all.
I’ve already put on an Indie Sleaze night there in June to great success.
At a time when many music venues and nightclubs are closing, The Grand Social is taking a different approach, investing in the future of Dublin’s nightlife and live music scene. This new space marks a commitment to growth, creativity, and supporting the next generation of artists and audiences in the heart of the city.

Dublin venue closures and openings
After the closures of Star Bar and Workman’s Cellar, there has been good news for Dublin venues with Button Factory spinning out their upstairs space as its own brand – Curveball, and Egan’s the new dive bar space with live music and club opening on Aungier Street.
