The Murder Capital’s debut track could peg them as Ireland’s best new alt-rock band

The Murder Capital are a new five-piece Dublin-based band made up of James McGovern, Morgan Wilson, Damien Tuit, Matt Wilson and Cathal Roper.

They’re a recent addition to the city’s live music scene and promise they contain is captured in this live video of their first public track ‘More is Less’ for the Soma x O’Hara Sessions. The song bristles with punk energy and is remarkably well-defined, channelling the spirit of Fugazi in the late 80s.

The Murder Capital: SOMA x O'Hara's Sessions

The live video was recorded live at Herbert Place Studios and recorded and mixed by James Darkin.

You can catch The Murder Capital at the first of a new night called Oslo on May 11th at The Workman’s Club.

As for Soma who brought you this video in the first place, “Soma originated as a series of house parties in Dublin hosting bands and DJs until stupid o’clock. The SOMA clubnight aims to carry on the houseparty tradition, showcasing Dublins best up and coming bands followed by a sweaty party soundtracked by all your favourite indie and alternative bangers.” It takes place in Whelan’s monthly.
