One Irish album release I’m looking forward to in 2008, is Halfset’s Desire Lines (tentative release date March). I’ve heard a trio of tracks from the album and from this preview, it shows enough promise that a trip to their gig in the Sugar Club this Friday should be at the top of your calendar.
I have a pair of tickets to giveaway for the gig which also features the excellent Dry County and the promising talent of Carly Sings. Just send an email to [email protected] with Halfset as the subject.
Below you can listen to the title track from the forthcoming album. Another new track “Work” is also up on their myspace and is absolutely worthy of your earfuzz.

trawling through the internet at 2 in the morning, I find a lot of decent and good songs. But what really hooks me in, the reason I spend countless hours doing this rather than working, is those moments when you find THAT song. You know the one I’m talking about. The one thats going to be buzzing through your headphones for the next week. The one that creates spine chilling awe at the thought that there’s so much amazing music out there that you haven’t listened to…yet.
this is one of those.
‘Desire Lines’? Isn’t that the name of Cecelia Ahern’s new book?!
Only got to listen to this today – gem! Play cork soon, would love to see em live – will have to check out Desire Lines when it comes out!
I managed to accidentally stumble upon these guys at the Electric Picnic and was wowed by them. Lovely setting to hear their kind of ethereal but rocky instrumental toons. Looking forward to that album. Do you know when it’s out?
Only found your blog recently and it’s mighty fine!!
