I love Young Wonder’s approach to remixing. There’s no one-sided producer knocking out a rework for cash or blog dollars. Ian Ring and Rachel Koeman collaborate over Bon Iver’s self-titled album’s opening track, twisted Justin Vernon’s vocals in harmonic shapes. There’s some Jamie xx-style steel pans, with the distinctive guitar riff looped while small bits of Koeman’s vocals also appear halfway through. It still maintain’s the original’s yearning.
