Forward/Slash is a weekly free night of electronic-leaning music that took place in The Bernard Shaw, Dublin up until recently. It’s now moving to the Twisted Pepper on Thursdays and with it a more expansive lineup and a couple of international guests, one in particular, Nosaj Thing, I’ve been dying to see in Ireland since I saw him at SXSW twice.
It all kicks off again on October 18th with Bantum and proceeding weeks include Laurel Halo, Nosaj Thing on November 8th with White Collar Boy, Eatenbybears, Nanu Nanu, Spies, Clu, Tara Masterson Hally and more lined up.
Highlights: Sea Sessions, We Are Losers / RunAround Kids, Hot 8 Brass Band, Paul White & Mo Kolours, Forza Italo and Ships at Forward/Slash. This is the weekly list of recommended Dublin gigs taking place over the next seven days published every Tuesday. All times are 7.30/8pm unless stated. Feel free to recommend events not present in the comments below. If you’re looking for tickets to sold out gigs try #ticketfairy on Twitter.
Further proof that Ireland has got it going on in electronic music at the moment. Forward/Slash is a night in The Bernard Shaw every Thursday which hosts the kind of electronic DJs and producers who are doing good things and this 15-track compilation is evidence. Tracks from SertOne, Bantum, Tenaka, Monto, Redahan, Faws, Orquesta, REID, Nouveaunoise, Hunter-Gatherer feature old and new amongst others.
The compilation will be available for sale on CD and download when The Beatyard kicks off on May 5th.
