Primavera-2011,-Barcelona-by-Alan-Moore-4

All photos by Alan Moore.

For a change I decided to go to Primavera Sound in Barcelona as a punter and just enjoy it without writing about it. But once a blogger always a blogger…

First things first: musical highlights:

Caribou

The ATP stage with its leafy trees and side-stage stadium steps lent itself to a whopping set from Dan Snaith and company. The last time I caught this band properly, was gig in Whelan’s while touring Andorra. This time around, as those who witnessed their recent gigs will attest to, the band have gone into orbit. The songs from Swim were made to be played in a setting like this, live dance workouts, that pushes and pulls in all the right places. Sublime. Full Primavera report…»

Eh, OK. So we all knew Primavera was going to have a brilliant lineup but today they finally fired their full list and the result was enough to make you faint. Basically “BEST LINEUP EVER”.

New additions:
PJ Harvey, Sufjan Stevens, Big Boi, Battles, Jamie XX, PiL (Public Image Limited), DJ Shadow, M.Ward, James Blake, Interpol, Warpaint, Baths, Darkstar, Cults, Explosions In The Sky, Glasser, Girl Talk, El Guincho, James Blake, Gold Panda, Gonjasufi, Holy Ghost!, Kode9 And The Space Ape + Kode9 Burial Set, Matthew Dear Live, Odd Future, Perfume Genius, Simian Mobile Disco, The Tallest Man On Earth and tUnE-yArDs.

Christ. Basically, half the artists regularly featured on this blog. I posted the full lineup here.
