Watch the Gaspar Noé directed video for SebastiAn’s ‘Love In Motion’ & hear the Rustie remix

Le Galaxie are releasing a brand new EP of remixes today for free download. The Laserdisc Dawn EP features reworks of tracks from Le Galaxie’s debut album Laserdisc Nights II by Bantum (check out the Lay Lay EP), Tenaka, Trophy Boyfriend, Herman Y Hermano (Gavin Elsted in disco mode of Adultrock and We Are Losers) and Durtbird aka Sean Corcoran.

My favourites at the moment are Trophy Boyfriend’s AM-Chillwave take on ‘Powers Of Miami’, Herman Y Hermano’s disco edit which was played in the Workman’s last week and worked well on a dancefloor but there’s not a foot wrong here. Evidently, Le Galaxie lend themselves to remixes.

Dave from Le Galaxie (as William Fakenamé) has remixed Sleep Thieves‘ ‘Do It The Hard Way’ into a blissed-out electronic drone tune driven by the dual vocals from Wayne and Sorcha of the band. In case you were wondering where Sleep Thieves’ Derek Murphy was in the pic above, he recently left the band to pursue other interests. He has been replaced by Keith Byrne.

The remix appears with the free download single ‘Hope Is Dead’ which the band have made a new video for which you can watch below. It was directed by Simon Eustace, produced by Tidal Productions and shot by Piers McGrail.

Sleep Thieves play Whelan’s on Friday night with Sounds of System Breakdown and Yes Cadets (win tickets here) as well as Hard Working Class Heroes on the 7th of October. You can still listen to Heart Waves at

CocknBullKid’s next single from her album Adulthood is ‘Yellow’ and will be released on Moshi Moshi / Island Records on August 8th.

This Greenmoney remix is infinitely more suited to the dancefloor: it’s sexier, faster and brimming with a big tropical-house rhythm.

Imagine if you were studying for your Leaving Cert exams and you release a couple of tracks on the internets that are well received and before you know it one of the biggest indie-rock bands in the world are calling for a remix. That’s exactly how it happened for Jack Colleran aka Moths, when Interpol asked him to remix one of their tracks for a remix EP alongside Salem, Ikonika and Banjo or Freakout. This is the result, turning the already moody and brooding original (below) into a blown-out ambient and more focused remix.

You can catch Moths live in Dublin on August 13th at HSSH alongside Mark E, I Am The Cosmos, David Kitt, Frankie Grimes, Jon Dots, Laser Tom & The Blast Crew, myself playing some tunes and more. That’s the makings of a good night.
