Pierce Turner @ Coughlan’s (9pm, €20)
Ex-Turner and Kirwan/The Major Thinkers man and Philip Glass associate continues his steady creative journey with a trip to Coughlan’s.

FRIDAY JULY 6TH

Under a Plastic Cloud @ The Roundy (9pm, free)
DJ Phil Hope and guests return from hiatus with a monthly serving of garage-rock, Northern Soul, punk, psych and freakbeat. Dancing shoes encouraged.

SOMA @ Cyprus Avenue (10pm, free)
Corkonian upstarts HappyAlone and The Slut Club headline the first Leeside excursion for Dublin indie night SOMA. Free Bulmers to the first hundred in, indie/alternative DJ ’til late

Colin Perkins @ Dali (10pm, €10)
PYG Sundays man and producer heads upstairs on Carey’s Lane for the evening with a broad spectrum of electronic records.

SATURDAY JULY 7TH

DBR UK @ Connolly’s of Leap (6pm, €10)
Veteran drum and bass/jungle selectors Craig Penman, Carl Nanton and Dan Myles head under the hammers for a marathon session, with support from the likes of DSully, Mark DB and Kunai.

Townlands Carnival Jazz Up Jam @ Circus Factory (7pm, €tbc)
An opportunity to get your costume ready for TLC at the end of the month, including costume upcycling workshops and the Carnival King/Queen contest. Plus drinks, tunes, etc.

Rock Against the Incinerator @ The Commodore Hotel, Cobh (8pm, €10)
Featuring psych-punks Crab Seal Teeth among other local blues and rock bands, all funds raised from this show go to CHASE’s legal fund for a judicial appeal to An Bord Pleanála’s decision to install an incinerator in Cork Harbour, endangering sealife and altering the local environment as we know it.

Guilty Pleasures @ Cyprus Avenue (8pm, €12.50)
Had one of those days? Corkonian nu-metal supergroup return to the Cyprus Avenue stage, this time to raise funds for Pieta House. Bantum on the decks after.

Pierce Turner @ Levis’ of Ballydehob (8.30pm, €tbc)
A second night in Cork for Turner after playing Coughlan’s on Friday. Early booking advised by the venue.

The Names of Enemies @ Fred Zeppelin’s (9pm, €tbc)
Hot off the release of their debut album, Cork alt-rock supergroup continue building momentum.

Redshape @ Dali (10pm, €tbc)
The man in the red mask comes to Dali from Berlin for a night of live/hybrid techno action, as part of the venue’s monthly Under the Rose night.

SUNDAY JULY 8TH

Sundown Sunday @ The Sextant (3pm, free)
Rumour has it a certain gig-guide compiler is bringing his best Trojan mix CDs to Gwada Mike’s open-decks reggae afternoon on the quays. More on this developing story as it happens.

Ringo: Music Bingo – The Show #2 @ Coughlan’s (8.30pm, €10)
Ronan Leonard returns with the full-scale, onstage, stand-up edition of his Ringo game of musical bingo. The subject this time: The Beatles.
