Search Results
Too Much Time
From the Dublin duo Search Results’ forthcoming new album Go Mutant, ‘Too Much Time’ has a post-punk no wave vibey thing going on the discordant Fall-esque new song from Jack Condon and Fionn Brennan.
“To have ‘Too Much Time’ would be a curse for some, and a blessing for others. Here’s a couple things to do with your Time if you have Too Much of it:
1. Celebrate the structural integrity of things, buildings
2. Ponder something wild”
Bukky
West
London-based Irish Nigerian artist Bukky is a songwriter, producer and guitarist who brings all those talents together along with a fine voice on the guitar soul rock song ‘West’, a song that trades on tension and taut production.
Joyce
Ego
Emerging Irish alt-pop artist JOYCE brings shimmering pop and swirling breathy production (by Kriss Burda) together on the swelling single ‘Ego’.
Billed “like a spell you can dance to,” ‘Ego’ id a beguiling intro to Joyce.
Circa
Revolution
I really enjoyed this indie-rock siren blast tune from Dublin band Circa, it has a bit of retro jangliness along with some ‘8s post punk but is also doing its own thing too. The vocals shine from singer Sean.
Emily Panter
Remember They Love You
Grungey bedroom pop is the vibe on Emily Panter’s new EP Remember They Love You, particularly on the debut EP’s title track.
The EP purports to explore “memory, childhood influences, and the complexities of adult life.”
Drawing inspiration from cherished family holiday soundtracks, family road trips, paddling in rock pools and the bittersweet reality of growing up, this collection of songs promises to resonate with anyone who has ever felt the pull of nostalgia amidst life’s struggles.
On the title track Panter says :“This track serves as a reminder that we are never truly alone, despite what we tell ourselves, there is always light to be found in the connections we have created, but it is important to reach out and to remember that sharing and asking for help is not being a burden.”
Physique
Wnder-Baum
On the more experimetnal side now, Miúin is a label of Glasgow/Kilkenny origin putting out music of a project called Physique, made up of a Chicago artist Sam Scranton and Neil Quigley (also of Glasgow/Kilkenny).
‘Wander-Baum’ is a spectral searching mix of lap steel pedal guitar, electronics and field recordings in a conversational and improvisational style.
‘Wunder-Baum’ is the opening track from the forthcoming Physique album Bright Lights, L’il City. More on Bandcamp.
