The Dublin collective’s first release of 2026 follows last year’s acclaimed BLACKS LAW, landing alongside a run of European festival dates and Loyle Carner support shows.
Bricknasty are back with new single ‘bobinov’, their first release of 2026.
Produced by Cillian McCauley, ‘bobinov’ has a lighter touch than a lot of their previous work – it feels like a summer jam breeze – bringing a swaying rhythm to the fore – melding R&B, club-leaning beats, dance music percussion and soul jams, with Fatboy’s exploring the space between connection and distance.
Fatboy said the track grew out of the band’s touring overseas and a want to bring more energy to the live show, aiming for tight songwriting that lets the angst and feeling out so the room gets that buzz together.
‘bobinov’ carries the same restless spirit as BLACKS LAW, the nine-track release that marked a pivotal point in the band’s evolution last year. I said of it in my albums of the year – “Blackโs Law is as nebulous as it is hypnotic, a kaleidoscopic mix of live band rap production, gospel and soul-torn psychedelia, drenched in Irish folk and metamorphic vocals.”
