The 2025 edition of the festival takes place from 13th to the 15th of June at Glendalough Estate in Wicklow.
See all we have on Beyond The Pale including latest lineups, arts programme, day breakdowns and more to come.
1.
Broken Social Scene
The return of Canadian rock’s best motley crew.
When your band is made up different members of various bands from your hometown, then it can take a while to get everyone together, and so the return of Toronto’s Broken Social Scene playing their first Irish show in 10 years, and their first show in Europe since 2018, is very notable at this year’s Beyond The Pale.
The band’s early albums You Forgot It In People and 2005’s self-titled followup have only grown in stature and cultural appreciation in the last 20 years, and when the songs are as anthemic as ‘7/4 Shoreline’, ‘Cause=Time’, ‘Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl’ and ‘Lovers Spit’ to name several, then you’ve got one of Beyond The Pale’s great gets of 2025.
They play Beyond The Pale: Sunday June 15th.

2.
Horse Meat Disco
Luke Howard, Severino Panzetta, James Hillard and Jim Stanton make up the disco DJ collective.
What makes Horse Meat Disco such an exciting addition to the BTP lineup? The London-based collective are first-and-foremost great selectors, consistently digging and unearthing little known disco gems of the past and edits from the present – which invariably bring rays of joyous and inclusive dance sunshine.
No two sets are alike, but every set is a blast of disco heaven.
They play Beyond The Pale: Friday June 13th.
3.
Osees
The San Fran psych-garage rock band Osees don’t have an off button.
The band sometimes known as the Oh Sees and Thee Oh Sees, have a constant touring schedule and recording output, having just put out their 28th album of “lo-fi punk ragers.”
There’s not much better example of a band who operate like a travelling punk circus, freewheelin’ into towns and festival stages to play a set of punk growlers that induce sweaty madness and moshing-friendly energy.
They play Beyond The Pale: Saturday June 14th.

4.
Sama’ Abdulhadi
The “queen of the Palestinian techno scene” is flying the flag at Beyond The Pale.
The Palestinian DJ discovered techno in Beirut as a creative diversion from Palestinian occupation where she learned the craft and techniques of mixing techno records, and has been on the up since.
Sama says her high-octane, punchy techno style, comes from Berlin techno via Lebanon, and a persistent tour diary is a vital opportunity to show collective solidarity through sonic escapism.
They play Beyond The Pale: Sunday June 15th.
5.
Todd Terje
The Norwegian disco edit don is a must-see.
It’s been 13 years since the bouncy ‘Inspector Norse’ became a modern day dance music anthem, and 11 years since Terje’s brilliant and only full-length album It’s Album Time, but Terje’s history of bringing his detailed knowledge to spinning a fresh edit on classic disco and pop song makes every live appearance, which are becoming rarer these days, a must-see set.
They play Beyond The Pale: Saturday June 14th.

6.
TV On The Radio
The Brooklyn rock band are back for their first Irish show in 17 years.
Now a touring trio of Tunde Adebimpe, Kyp Malone and Jaleel Bunton, TV On The Radio’s soul-stirring alternative rock returns and sounds as singular and cathartic as ever.
Expect airing of TVOTR classics like ‘Staring At The Sun’, ‘Wolf Like Me’, ‘Golden Age’ and ‘Province’. The band are back playing live as of this week in the US.
They play Beyond The Pale: Sunday June 15th.
7.
BadBadNotGood
The Toronto-based instrumental band have been riding the nu wave of jazz and soul music.
BadBadNotGood are a young jazz band whose members are equally versed in the swing of hip-hop, who love and adore modern soul and R&B, who can recreate the masters of the genre, while bringing modern references to old sounds.
They are serial collaborators with rappers and singers like Ghostface Killah, Baby Rose, Charlotte Day Wilson, Kaytranada and V.C.R. to name a few, and it’s the band’s improvisational telepathy and visionary chops that keeps them at the top of their game.
They play Beyond The Pale: Sunday June 15th.

8.
berlioz
Jasper Attlee’s jazz-house project has turned a streaming audience into a real life one.
“If Matisse made house music,” sounds like a lofty descriptor but it speaks to the detailed intent and pretty vision of the Cornwall-based producer’s music (named after a Disney character), that has already found huge audiences leading to berlioz becoming the most listened to jazz act in the UK.
So what’s the fuss? The music is low-key – piano and sax-featuring jazz chords with lite house rhythms with sampled speech nods to the genre’s past, that has soundtracked thousands of Instagram reels and Tik-Toks and opened up young audiences to chilled-out jazz vibes, while reminding older heads of St. Germain.
His last show in Dublin sold out the National Stadium and you can imagine berlioz’s relaxed rhythms working wonders on a warmed up festival crowd.
They play Beyond The Pale: Friday June 13th.
9.
Gurriers
The Dublin-based five-piece band have proved themselves to be industrious Irish rockers.
Gurriers roared out of the pandemic with a punk energy informed by the disaffection and disillusionment of young Irish people, and quickly found an audience beyond Ireland, with the band’s debut album Come And See a rallying cry to be heard.
Gurriers frenetically charged punk and rock songs, sear the imagination with low basslines, buzzing impact-exploding guitars and visceral vocals from Dan Hoff. They leave it all on the stage when they perform live.
They play Beyond The Pale: Sunday June 15th.

10.
Sofia Kourtesis
The Peruvian electronic artist released one of my favourite albums of 2023.
The Berlin-based producer’s debut album Madres was filled with personal, reflective warm-hearted electronica, that kinship with the sort of fuzzy melodic sonics heard on the quieter end of a Caribou record.
Sofia’s latest track ‘Unidos’ completes the circle with a collaboration with Dan Snaith’s electronic side-project Daphni, after time spent as touring support for Caribou.
They play Beyond The Pale: Saturday June 14th.
