Louise Macnamara shares ‘Bury My Head’, the first single from a new solo project moving away from the Heathers project into indie-folk and pop.
Louise Macnamara, one half of Dublin duo Heathers alongside her twin sister Ellie, is back with a new project, please louise. First single ‘Bury My Head’ now, the opening release from a four-track EP due in November.
The sound marks a departure from Heathers, moving toward indie-folk and pop, with Macnamara citing Big Thief, Lucy Dacus and Snail Mail as reference points for the new material.
Heathers built a loyal following through the 2010s on the strength of their close harmonies and stripped-back sound, and Macnamara has stayed active since, including a 2018 collaboration with Digg Deep on ‘Before We Were Born’.
It’s been a while since we’ve heard new music from Louise, so this one’s worth keeping an eye on.
