We are bringing the Jeff Buckley - Grace Listening Party to Sounds From A Safe Harbour in Cork

Join Nialler9 and Aoife Barry for a special listening party for the 1994 classic album as part of the Sounds From A Safe Harbour festival.

After our two recent Dublin playbacks and chats, Listen Closely is coming to Cork for Sounds From A Safe Harbour on Sunday September 14th.

Taking place at the Roundy at 3pm that day, Listen Closely is a chance to appreciate a modern classic album with a chat about the record, and a playback on vinyl.

The intimate listening experience is perfect for our chosen album, which is also the subject of a new documentary getting its Irish premiere the previous night at Sounds From A Safe Harbour.

Jeff Buckley – Grace [1994]

One of the ’90s most revered albums, Grace is an astonishing debut LP from the American singer-songwriter. Sadly, it was to be his only album as he tragically died three years later but the album is considered a classic for its wide-ranging, reaching vocals (Buckley’s voice spanned four octaves), its resonant melding of rock, folk, soul and jazz and songs of intensity, beauty and grandeur including of course, the definitive cover of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’, along with songs like ‘Lover, You Should’ve Come Over’, ‘Mojo Pin’, and ‘Grace’.

Join Niall with guest Aoife Barry for a discussion about the record, and a playback of the album on vinyl. We will chat about the record’s context, craft, production, lyrics and importance of this modern classic.

Tickets are limited to 50 for this intimate event.

Tickets from €10 plus fee from Eventbrite.
