The Scottish synth-pop band return to Dublin on Thursday April 29th 2027, after announcing All The King’s Men, their first album in almost six years.
Chvrches will play 3Olympia Theatre, Dublin on Thursday April 29th 2027 with special guests, as part of an extensive tour of North America, the UK and Ireland that begins on February 13th.
The tour follows the release of All The King’s Men on January 22nd 2027 via Futures Music Group. It is the first album from Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty since Screen Violence, their fourth UK Top 10 album, after which they took a pause in 2023.
The band describe the 11-track album as a self-consciously British, freewheeling collection of indie rock that fans won’t expect. It was recorded in person in Glasgow over several intense three-week stints rather than remotely, as Screen Violence was. Doherty drew on gritty British cinema by Shane Meadows and Ken Loach, as well as Massive Attack, Siouxsie and the Banshees and PJ Harvey. Cook moved towards writing with acoustic instruments, listening to Nick Drake, Bert Jansch and the Incredible String Band. Mayberry brought a stronger storytelling approach to the lyrics.
The first single was ‘Roses’, a social commentary on the darker undercurrents of Britain. Other songs mentioned in the announcement include the 90s pop-rock-leaning ‘Adore You’ and the indie ballad ‘Comedown Tomorrow’.
