The electro pioneer plays a second Dublin date this year, part of Circles 2026.
“Never miss a show from Egyptian Lover show” is a good rule in life if you can help it, and it’s one Dublin gets to test twice this year. Following his March 16th date, Egyptian Lover returns to the city on Saturday October 24th, playing The Bernard Shaw as part of Circles 2026.

What makes Egyptian Lover such a good live draw is the storied experience and energy he brings: Greg Broussard has been doing this since the early 80s, one of the first people to make the Roland TR-808 the beating heart of a genre rather than a novelty, and a key figure in LA’s electro and early hip-hop scene.

Tracks like ‘Egypt, Egypt’ and ‘Freak-A-Holic’ are tracks that still slap but their influence sound runs directly through Miami bass, West Coast hip-hop and a huge chunk of what electro sounds like today.
But the reason he’s worth chasing to a second show in the same year is simpler than any of that: he’s an entertainer first and a DJ second. Egyptian Lover plays all vinyl, works multiple decks at once, and treats a set as a full performance rather than a mix, there’s showmanship, there’s crowd work, there’s an actual sense of occasion to it that a lot of legacy artists lose once the novelty of “living history” wears off.
