The Irish multi-instrumentalist’s first full-length since Brockhampton disbanded in 2022 is out November 6th on Ninja Tune.
Ciarán, formerly known as Bearface during his time in Brockhampton, has announced his debut solo album Róisín, out Friday November 6th on Ninja Tune. It’s his first full-length project since the group disbanded in 2022, and arrives alongside new single ‘Galvarino’, accompanied by self-directed visuals.
The comeback has been building since July’s ‘K-Bar’, which has already passed half a million streams and over a million views across various platforms. ‘Galvarino’ is more nebulous, a guitar indie slowcore tune with R&B and hip-hop swagger and sounds a bit like Dijon.
TRather than a self-titled debut, Ciarán named it after Róisín, the Irish name meaning “little rose” that was once destined to be his own middle name, a symbolic anchor for the record and a nod to his Irish roots.
“I was always hesitant to go by Ciarán,” he said, admitting he’d worried people would struggle with the pronunciation. “People learn how to pronounce difficult names all the time. Irish names are beautiful.”

After Brockhampton, he found himself with total sonic freedom and moved back to New York to figure out what to do with it. Róisín isn’t tied to one genre, moving between guitars, distorted vocals, harsh textures and dreamier chords across its 13 tracks. “I’d rather wait and take my time than put something out because of any perceived pressures from anyone else,” he said of the process.
He debuted the new material at a sold-out show with a choir and nine-piece band at New York’s Christ & St Stephen’s Church in August.
