By now, FKA twigs has established herself as a visceral artist in many respects. Musically, her album is uncompromising, her self-expression through dance unique and her vision through her visuals ticks both of those boxes.
Last week, a weird dance/music/ad video thing featuring Google Glass left a widescreen impression. This week, her Kahlil Joseph-directed video finds her dancing around a formerly-imprisoned corpse after a lethal injection. Dark.
By tonight, there’s a very good chance that Barnett will be revealed as the winner of the Mercury Music Prize too.
