I’m very impressed with this kid. London-born and raised in Ireland, Michael Stafford is a songwriter who has placed himself in the intersection between the world of urban pop, grime, hip-hop and dubstep. His soulful and reggae-tinged timbre is perfect for singing hooks as he demonstrates on Professor Green’s new single ‘Jungle’. Early Plan B comparisons are valid. Currently on tour with Chase & Status, he dropped a 10-track The Traveling Man mixtape on Bandcamp for free last week as a showcase of his talents backed by some dub-heavy and sweet acoustic guitar instrumentals.
Thanks to a tip-off from Shapeyfiend and via Ireland’s best hip-hop blog at the moment, Craic Music.
Listen to two sample tracks (the first produced by Starkey) and head into the more for the full stream and a video for ‘Sometimes’.

Quality video. When did he move to Ireland? He sounds pretty English to me.
